Review: Lovely looking kettle! Had to get grey as the toaster HAD to match and the black toaster was more expensive for some strange reason, happy I got the grey one, no funny taste or smell, follow the couple of boils recommendation. Imagine it's energy efficient as you can boil one cup, oh and a button to flip the lid open if you're dead set against simply using the spout to fill!!

Review: Arrived , well packed .. Lots of sharp edges from the mould they use . I had to sandpaper the handle and inside the rim as very sharp and poorly finished . I boiled the kettle twice as per instructions , the plug got quite warm to the touch and was a little concerned ( I guess it doesn't like to be used again straight after being used !) However when it got used later , it was not warm at all . If you fill to the max and not use the filter , water exits from the spout freely when being used , it could cause scolding . I find useing 1.6L instead of 1.7 L that the kettle claims to be . Water does not exit the spout when on the stand working. As I don't use the kettle for making drinks , I am forced to use the filter to help stop scalding water . I wouldn't recommend this kettle as I believe it is not really fit for purpose . No idea how long the blue light will last . but it would have been an idea to have it turn red when the water is hot and not blue . I give it 2 stars overall and that is being generous . Fast boil is only when you have small amount of water in the kettle . I found no difference between my 7 year old kettle and the Russel Hobbs 26380 at boiling , even though my old kettle is a 1.8L . So in actually fact , Fast boil is a sales gimmick . I know I would not buy another Russel Hobbs kettle when this fails
