Description: This 2-port HDMI switch lets you share an HDMI 2.0 display or projector with two HDMI 2.0 video sources. The switch features two independent video inputs that can each support 4K resolution at 60 Hz making it the perfect solution for connecting two video sources to a display that has a limited number of HDMI 2.0 ports. Astonishing picture quality with support for Ultra HD 4K at 60 Hz. This HDMI switch lets you harness the High Dynamic Range (HDR) capability of your HDMI 2.0 video sources and deliver it to your UHD 4K60 display. Unlike many 4K switches that only support a 30 Hz refresh rate this switch works with HDMI 2.0 displays with output resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160p at 60 Hz. Don't be fooled by a clever spin on old technology. Many HDMI switches support 4K but will only work at a 30 Hz refresh rate or claim support for 60 Hz but heavily compress their signal to a lower 4:2:0 chroma subsampling in order to work at inferior bitrates. This 4K 60 Hz HDMI switch uses the latest components to offer full support for your HDMI 2.0 equipment supporting true 4K resolution at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. Support for HDMI 2.0 devices means this switch can transmit bandwidth up to 18 Gbps making it an ideal video solution for high-resolution computer tasks. The HDCP 2.2 HDMI switch is backward compatible with 4K 30 Hz and 1080p displays which ensures that it will work with lower resolution displays such as T Vs or projectors around your site or in your digital signage application. Hassle-free operation with automatic switching. This switch ensures effortless operation with automatic switching that detects and selects a newly connected device perfect for automatically switching to a 4K media player such as a 4K UHD Blu-ray player as soon as it's switched on. In your classroom or office boardroom the automatic switch makes it easy to share your projector between multiple sources which encourages on-the-fly collaboration among colleagues. The HDMI switch also supports manual operation using the included IR remote control or the built-in front panel toggle switch. The VS221HD20 is backed by a 2-year Star Tech. Com warranty and free lifetime technical support. Review: My new soundbar has one HDMI socket, and I was getting issue with lip-synch on ARC (audio return via the TV) so invested in a cheap switch. It was rubbish - you get what you pay for. Then I saw this StarTech model, and I found their stuff to be top notch in the past. It is this time, and even though it's 2.5X what I paid for the cheap switch - this just works. Even my Harmony Remote manages it (search StarTech.com on the Harmony DB), so job done. I've shorter cables now and I swear the picture looks better too, but I have no scientific proof that it's that or the switch. In operation it's quick and doesn't flash up worrying screen artefacts during the switching, like the cheap one did. It also doesn't bomb out after a few hours like the last one I tried, either. Plus it's great quality construction - metal instead of plastic. Not the the remote though, which as others have noted, is a little low rent It's got 2x minor downsides: 1) Bright lights! When used in a media setup, rather than a computer lab, the power and switch indicator are way to bright. I had to cover them, so all good now. 2) It's not USB powered, it requires a plug. Not the end of the world, but hey, it's ANOTHER socket in use In my case it's pared with an LG OLED TV, LG Meridian soundbar, Humax satellite box and an Apple TV and everything works very sweetly, Harmony remote included. Don't waste your time on the cheap stuff, get quality that actually works.

Review: I bought this HDMI switch because a new TV I bought only has two HDMI ports. I chose this one because I've had StarTech products before and they have always been good quality. This little unit feels robust and well made, so a good start. But... As the name of the product is 'automatic video switch box', you might think the video source would change automatically. Sadly this is not the case. I plugged a BT YouView box and a Sony Blu-Ray player (hardly uncommon devices to plug into a TV) into the switch and switched them on in turn, but he input channel did not change source automatically. After trying to make it work for 10 minutes, I went on to StarTech's website and spoke to a technician. We did a few tests and his conclusion was that, because 'my two products have a low-level signal at all times, the box could not tell when either was switched on or off'. He concluded by saying that to make the box sense the connection, I would have to pull the wire out each time. So basically, it's rubbish. The input channel did change when using the remote, but if I'd wanted a manual switch, I'd have bought one for a lot less than £54. It's going back.
