Review: I know showers aren't mentioned in the description, but I bought this hoping it would fit onto my shower, but the size was too large. Had previously had something similar which I had one on washing machine inlet pipe and one on shower - both the same size. As I said, this one was too large for shower connection, not sure therefore how universal it is. Also looked probably too large for my washing machine pipe, although that was too difficult to get to to try it. Therefore returned sadly.
