Review: Have used printable Verbatim DVD+R discsVerbatim 43512 16x DVD+R 4.7 GB Wide Printable (Pack of 50) (usually bought on spindles of 50), for use in my high speed copier to copy my master DVDs for distribution, for quite a number of years. I have always been pleased with them and they have always functioned perfectly ... until today. I loaded four 'blanks' into my copier (I had 50 to copy) from the spindle just received from Amazon (excellent delivery time, as usual) and one of the transports failed to run up. The copier copied the other three but produced a failure report for one of the blanks. On inspection it was easy to see why: there was an area of some two square centimetres on the data (shiny) side which had all sorts of discolourations. Looked as if the recording coating had not been fixed to the substrate - clearly not a disc that could be recorded on! Disappointing though it is, it is the only Verbatim DVD+R failure I have had in probably at least 1,000 blanks purchased from Amazon. Not a bad record - but does anyone know if a small percentage of failures is to be expected from Verbatim?
