Review: My daughter did enjoy some of the experiments on the box. The submarine/sinking man is interesting. The jumping balls/static experiment is fun. However, there are some which are quite disappointing. The water cycle experiment. This by far seems to be the most exciting one of all, which produces a nice illustration of the water cycle from evaporation to rain. There are several flaws in this. (i) it needs an incandescent/halogen bulb to encourage evaporation, which for me is difficult to find as most of my bulbs are energy-saving or LED. (ii) when you have a cup of water and evaporating (to have condensation on the 'cloud'), it is impossible to see what's happening as shown in the instruction, as the entire glass is fogged up that you can see anything unless you constantly taking the cover off and wiping the inside of the glass. The highlight of the erupting volcano is disappointing. The volcano mountain model looks impressive and nice, but I think the hold to store the ingredients can be made bigger and better (ie larger container, smaller opening?), as the eruption is more of an overflow of lava than an eruption. Hovercraft CD - the weight of the attachment, weight of the balloon, and/or the hole on the attachment, made a rather disappointing working hover CD. I think the attachment's hold for the air flow can be bigger for this to work. We'll be doing the bubbles tomorrow, hopefully, those will be better.
