Review: Like many people, when Covid hit, my employer gave me a laptop and told me to go work from home. Well, I already had a home based Scentsy business, where my office was set up with my Scentsy Laptop and a Second monitor, and a keyboard & mouse. So then I set up my work provided laptop, with the dock they provided me- and hooked it all up to my monitor, keyboard & mouse. The problem then became the fact that I am lazy. I hated switching the cords every day, multiple times a day, to be able to switch between laptops, and have the convenience of the 2nd monitor, mouse & keyboard. I didn't have enough room for 2 full set ups.... so I just stopped using the set up for my Scentsy business. I would just use my laptop- as a laptop. But I hated it. So I went on a search for something that allowed me to have 2 different laptops- completely separate, that I could easily switch between- but still use the 2nd monitor, keyboard & mouse without moving any cables. I found a device by startech.com, but it said something about sharing files between the 2 laptops. Because of the security of my job, I could not have any file sharing, or even the possibility of it. So I called StarTech.com to be that annoying person who knows enough about tech to be dangerous, but lacks enough knowledge to be annoying. The tech support was BEYOND amazing. The guy didn't make me feel dumb. He listened to what my situation was. He was very knowledgeable about the products & what would work for me and he led me to this product. It was EXACTLY what I needed. It works with the dock I have to use for my work laptop, and it works with my Scentsy Laptop. It was super easy to install, and now when I want to switch from Work, to my Scentsy business, I click a button. The 2nd monitor, keyboard & mouse switch- just like that- to whichever system I want! AND- bonus- the other system still stays up & running- so I can actually run both systems at the same time- I just can't use the 2nd monitor, mouse & keyboard with both at the same time. This has made my life SOOOO much easier to work both separate things from different laptops. The tech support was some of the best I've ever encountered. I am SOOO HAPPY with this product! I do wish it had more USB ports so I could plug my speakers into it as well. It does have 2 USB ports, but I use them for my mouse & keyboard. It does have the older ports that older mouse & keyboards used to have- so if I changed to one of those, I would free up a port for my speakers..... but that is so minimal, it doesn't bother me at all. My speakers are plugged into the dock for my work laptop, and I can run them while working on my Scentsy laptop if needed. If I need to zoom or something with Scentsy, I just run off the laptop's speakers & mic. 5 star product, 5 Star tech support!

Review: Extremely positive: when switching screens, it makes the host machine think the monitor is still there, so you don't have that problem with multiple displays where it relocates all of your stuff. This is not common among the cheap KVMs. Also, having all the cables built in is pretty great. And with audio cables built in as well, it's going to be a really excellent way to only have to keep one headset and mic around. Negatives: It absolutely would not work as anything other than a monitor switcher. My keyboard wouldn't work with it at all. Eventually the mouse would start stuttering. It was much worse with my M1 Mac and everything seemed fine with my work PC, but eventually it started flaking out there too. I don't know what the problem is, but it's hard to give this more than 3 stars because it failed at its basic task. Customer service trying to work this problem out was actually amazing, but the reality is Mac support is lacking (what little software they have hasn't been updated to run on M-series Macs) and most of the solutions boiled down to "spend $400 on the more expensive model and hope that it fixes the issue".
