Review: Lots of research led to this purchase and so far so good. Mounted the unit underneath the desk, and with some cable management it has been a nice solution to a work and home system with 3 monitors. A couple issues to note: 1) Lag on the wireless mouse when in the mouse USB port. Solution provided by StarTech: move mouse key fab to one of the 'hub' ports. Works far better now, no lag. 2) Hot key commands not working. Per StarTech support, most gaming keyboards are unsupported as their code/signals are different than standard keyboards. Need to grab a standard keyboard to test, but I am likely out of luck for hotkey capabilities. Docking 1 star as that is a bummer and not advertised, but then StarTech cannot list everything that is not compatible. If I had not mounted this within reach it would be a bigger issue. No one wants to downgrade components. Also of note, the StarTech tech support was surprisingly knowledgeable and helpful in getting answers to my issues.

Review: I purchased this on Amazon after having experience with one of StarTech's Dual head-Dual DVI switches, which worked well - So, I decided that I wanted to try a three-monitor setup. Since StarTech had introduced this product, I purchased one from Amazon hoping to have the same level of functionality, convenience and performance. Sadly, I am disappointed in this product and support from StarTech. I had to go through two other switches from Amazon before I received this one. None of the others would even try to work - problems switching inside the switch, no video signal to one port. This one works better than the other two - sometimes. Kudos to Amazon and their policy of replacing this junk when it doesn't work properly (within the time limits of course - which don't help me now....) Lately it has been not been making the connection to my third monitor and/or not detecting my keyboard, and this results in powering everything down, waiting for five minutes or so, re-booting the switch etc, etc, ad nauseum. I am getting fed up enough with it that I am about to give up on it. (Edit 8/5/2016 - I would rather SWITCH (get it) than fight this thing...I quit!) I am an experienced computer user and have trouble-shot this down to the switching mechanism or a problem inside the switch itself. It is not my cables, power supply or computers, mouse or keyboard (all hard-wired). The problem is the switch. I use the exact same graphics (Nvidia Quadro 4000) cards in my two computers with the same driver versions. I use identical cables between the two boxes and the switch and the same type of cables to the three monitors. When it craps out, I connected the machines directly to the monitors, eliminating the switch, so I can confirm that IT the switch that is defective, not my setup. At the time purchased it was the only one that I could find, and based on my previous experience with the dual port dual head switch, I was hoping to be very pleased with this product - But, I am not. Note: after posting this review and one on StarTech web site, another support person from StarTech sent me a real nice email suggesting things and asking questions, (all of which were already answered in the past), or different combinations of connecting my wired keyboard and wired mouse to different USB ports on the back of the switch (all that have been already tried). StarTech offered to take it back and replace it with one that has been validated to work properly by their service department. Thanks, but....No More. I have replaced it with a much more expensive 'Smart-AVI' brand switch which functions much better than the StarTech ever did. The replacement costs a lot more money, but it WORKS like I expect it to with no crankiness or swapping things from port to port and it WORKS, so far every time I switch from my Windows 7 machine to Linux machine without losing my Linux desktop. I'm done with StarTech and this -- I should have known as soon as I had to ask Amazon for the first replacement - and it didn't function properly either.. Too much frustration. If you purchase one of these - Good Luck - I hope that yours works and lasts much better than mine has.
