Review: I've used these headphones almost every week for over 5 years and only now are they wearing out. I didn't fold them regularly so I can't speak to the reliability of that aspect but the cable and connector and speakers are all as good as new. The only thing that is now wearing out is the soft material that goes over your ears, which has finally perished. I initially bought them for travel because their foldability makes them much easier to pack in a backpack. I've taken them on several trips and the folding mechanism still works well 5 years later. At this price it's hard for me to even consider buying a different model.

Review: I know you really need to let speakers and headphones have a run in period in regards to sound quality but these are so 'ordinary' right from the start you can not ignore that. They're cheap but well enough made so I have no real problems with that aspect. No padding on the head strap means they are less comfortable than those that do, particularly if you are thin on top. The lead is ultra short suggesting it is designed principally for mobile situations but again I have no serious issue with that as it was mentioned in one of the Question responses. But I have to come back to the sound: its just tinny, thin and has exactly the sort of audio quality you expect from a really cheap pair of headphones but not ones with the Sony name attached. On top of that they require considerably higher volume settings on audio devices than any other headphones I use. That includes better quality, more expensive Sony ones too. I bought these as I thought they might be better than the Numark HF125 branded ones I own, bought via Amazon too. I was wrong. The Numark ones are certainly not amazing either but they have a padded head-strap, longer lead and, at the price, a pound cheaper, are a better buy in every respect, particularly the sound quality. That's why I've now ordered two more of those rather than another two of these, for me, disappointing Sony ones.
