Review: Before buying this gem I reviewed all the popular espresso machines available in the UK. Sage, Delonghi, Gaggia etc. were carefully considered. I bought this bambino plus on offer. Hand grinder on fine, 19 gram dose using decent ground beans and the supplied non-pressurised basket. Update. I've now had this machine for 6 months. I only use quality espresso beans from James Gourmet or Lavazza and get very consistent results, good mount of crema and make lattes using oat barista or semi skimmed milk. I now use 18.1 grams of fine ground coffee using an old Birchleaf hand grinder and the supplied non-pressurised basket. Very happy with my purchase. If you're after perfection it's not a ten grand pro machine but takes the hassle out of dialing in. I'm very happy with it and it's just perfect for my morning latte.

Review: I purchased the machine including the accidental damage insurance hoping said insurance would see me through any problem occuring with the machine but the game is always the same and no exception here: Insurance is and always will be a form of gambling and the bank always wins. When contacting Amazon once a problem with the machine occurred I was put you through to Sage support. My experience with Sage support started enthusiastic going through to sloppy and eventually plainly hostile. Sage’s idea of support responses is: a response once every 24 hours is sufficient So there is not much of an exchange. Support will send an email, you write response, 24 hours later support might get back to you and this drags on and on. I personally did not get a solution or something resembling a meaningful response and eventually support stopped responding all together. Long story short: my machine was then sent to Sage’s UK support partner who informed me it will take between 10 and 12 business days to get my machine serviced. Make of that what you want. Got the machine back after six business days and the problem was the exact same. On informing Sage's support I am still waiting for a response nearly 4 weeks later.
