Review: I purchase a number of the Philips Hue Luca outdoor pedestal lights in November 2019. For the most part, I have been pleased with their design and functionality. They work well with the mobile phone app and also work great with Amazon Alexa. Whilst the pedestal design looks good, it is not particularly well engineered. There is nothing "smart" about the pedestal as all the "smart" functions are within the actual lightbulb and the apps. What is important to be aware of is the low IP rating of this product. I was made aware of this issue only after I had an electrical fault which caused the consumer unit within my house to trip out. A qualified electrician was needed to sort out the issue and they identified the circuit causing the problem was the outside lights. The pedestal seems to suffer from a condensation or water ingress issue that over time has caused the fittings and connection points to corrode. After a spell of bad weather a small pool of water was found to be sitting under the socket where the bulb screws in, thus causing the circuit to short out. It's such a shame that the product has the design floor as otherwise, I have been really happy with them.
