Review: I bought this together with Madama - Reusable and Refillable Cap Compatible with Nespresso Vertuo and VertuoLine Capsules because I had tried it out in a hotel and wanted to be able to use my own choice of coffee. I am very pleased with the result. Previously I was using a Gaggio Classic - it produces nice coffee but the Nespresso Virtuo Next is a lot simpler and quicker and produces, I think, a better coffee flavour with a much better crema. Also I got it at a special offer price.

Review: First things first, the coffee machine is good, it makes nice coffee and although a little large, it looks great in the kitchen. It looks premium for a reasonable price. It also has Wi-Fi but so far as I can work out it serves no purpose. What I hadn't appreciated is that the Virtuo pods aren't available in supermarkets (I hadn't realised this ahead of time). I was planning on joining the Nespresso club with the 50% of voucher but expected to have more choice of where and when to purchase. Now that i am a member of the 'club' I find that minimum order each month is 50 capsules which costs more than the £12.50 credit I receive each month. I have therefore had to pay an additional £10 in the first month to receive 50 pods. I guess the return of 50 coffees for £25 is OK though. I still haven't worked out which coffee is right for me, I am a bog standard Americano drinker normally and don't require anything fancy. Finding a coffee which meets my taste may take some trial and error. In short, I wish I had brought a standard machine like dolce gusto or similar where i can get the pods when and where i like.
