Review: Bought this to replace some cheap unbranded micro SD reader that I'd had for years which finally snapped off the flimsy USB C plug as I respect the Kingston brand and typically they make very good products but this is very disappointing. Firstly, the USB C interface on mine doesn't work at all - it works fine connected with normal USB A (or via a USB A to USB C adapter) but not using the USB C plug with either of my macs. Secondly, even when it does work, the metal body of this thing gets *hot* - uncomfortably so if you have to touch it afterwards, even when idle. It's also very poorly designed; you can't change the SD card without removing the entire unit from the USB port, and it's very awkward to remove and insert the card compared to most with a standard slot. Overall a good idea, poorly executed.
