Review: There are some good features here, including the quick release mount, its light weight, and the compact size when closed. But potentially the best part is the hand grip which allows full control over both pan and tilt. Potentially, because it is not perfect. With a middle of the range Canon DSLR camera it struggles with the weight, put a heavy lens on that camera it you’ll probably run into difficulties, especially if you’re using the pistol grip for more than a minute or two. I think the problem is that the grip is just not big enough to give sufficient leverage to make the operation easy or comfortable. And that’s not the only issue. The tripod’s legs are not up to the task of keeping the whole thing stable, they readily flex while you’re adjusting the camera. They can also vibration considerably, and on a hard surface the feet easily slip. The bag provided might be useful for carrying it, but getting the tripod into the bag is such a fiddle it doesn’t seem worth the effort.
