Review: I'm sure if you're looking at this memory you're doing so because of the RGB because there is certainly more affordable memory available without the RGB effect with the same memory chips at the same frequencies and latencies as these. As RAM these sticks are great, they work at the stated frequencies and are very well constructed. The RGB effect is great but it's let down a little by the limited Aura Sync software that G-Skill expects you to use with the memory. I don't have any issue with the hardware but the software could be a lot better. If you're going for a themed build keep in mind that the diffusers used for the RGB here are white and some colours do look more white than they should especially in a very well lit case. But overall the colour is quite good and I found all the colours to show very accurately that is to say blue looks blue, red looks red and so forth. Each RAM stick does have an internal thermal sensor which you can read with software like HWInfo. In my system the sticks stay around 43c which I'd say is pretty great. The 3600MHz sticks I purchased will happily run at 4000MHz so there is some headroom for overclocking if you wanted to do that. Overall a great RAM kit and I would buy from G.Skill again with confidence.

Review: So I got the F4-3600C17 32 GB (16GBx2) model. Took a bit longer than usual to arrive but I was really looking forward to using them since, until now, I have only been able to get Corsair RGB and I am working on a new WC build and thought I should try something else for a change, always wanted to use GSKill so I got the 32GB kit. I checked the QVL and they were marked as compatible for my MOBO an Asus Z-390I Gaming. Plugged them in and after a few restarts the BIOS boot up in safe mode, I was kind of expecting this anyway after changing RAM and but I was a bit surprised since I had previously disabled XMP and set the BIOS to defaults. Anyway, it will boot up without XMP and at the default 2133MHZ speeds. Turned XMP on, default profile, save and restart, and again it started to reset several times until it will boot up again with XMP disabled. So I said, not to worry lets just go to windows and see what I can find out, unfortunately it wouldnt boot up, I would instantly get a blue screen. So I went back into the BIOS, put the old RAM back on and it instantly worked. I decided then to download the latest BIOS firmware, installed it, put the GSkill ram again and nothing, same problem. will get passed the BIOS without XMP enable and crashed into Windows, wont get even passed POST if I enable XMP. So I tried different profiles, changing VCCSA/VCCIO voltages manually, voltage, etc, no difference. So after an hour of playing I just asked to myself, why am I doing this, this should work out of the box, whatever I do to get this to work I will probably have to do again a few months from now if I decided to OC or change MOBOs, to me this is unacceptable. This memory should work out of the box at the rated speed, I am not even trying to OC it just get it to work, and it simply wont. I will have to go back to Corsair since I at least have good experience with it and I cannot wait for a replacement, it is a shame, I dont know when or if I will ever use GSkill again, maybe on my next build but I do have to say it has let me down. Also tried single modules and it wouldnt boot into OS either (tried only 1 of the 2 modules, there was no point in trying the second as they come in a package anyway and both would have to be returned). So in conclusion, either I have a faulty MOBO that will not work with this specific RAM (it does work with other types like Corsair Vengance and Dominator) or I got a faulty RAM. I might give it another go and raise a ticket before returning it, I have as few weeks before my WC items arrive so might be worth waiting. In the end worst case scenario it only takes a couple of days to get the Corsair RAM from my normal reseller. Just un update, I raised a ticket with Gskill and I am waiting to hear back. Memory is ready to go back to Amazon as I will possibly need a replacement, but amazon cannot do this for me so I will have to return it and re order. I want to wait for GSkill to get back to me in case there are incompatibilities with my MB or Chipset (i9700k). note: I decided to contact support and try to get this RAM to work or at least figure out what was wrong with it, unfortunately, it has been 1 week since I raised the ticket and so far I have had no response. In the meanwhile I decided to get the crucial Ballistix 32GB 3600 mem kit. Got them within 2 days and worked straight out of the box at the advertised speed. Which is what I would have expected from the Gskill. Who knows maybe I got a bad module kit unfortunately this has really put me off buying Gskill again. Specially seeing how bad their support is.
