Review: Nothing to dislike, arrived quickly, packaging was very good, quality of playing a record brings you right back to our teenage years, love the idea that you can wear headphones, great value for your money. I would highly recommend this.

Review: The unit does looks good. The sound is excellent for a built in speaker. It seemed to have a good tone. Obviously an even better sound would be obtained by using external speakers. The Radio sounded good. Although note that you can only receive FM with an option to go between FM or FM Stereo. MW and LW are not included. (I was aware of that when ordering. So this is mentioned by me for the sake of a complete review. This aspect does not influence my star rating.) In fact the radio is the one tested function that operated within my expectations. Problems actually arose when I used the CD & Record Turntable. The CD motor was noisy. I could hear it whirring away. The whirring was notable when there was a quiet interlude. Noisier portions of music drowned out the sound of the motor. Strangely I was prepared to ignore this. The CD was not the reason I bought the item. It was the record turntable. The aspect that made me reject the item related to the Record Turntable. I found that it could not cope with my 48 hour old Vinyl of the Soundtrack to the film Mary Queen of Scots (2018). It skipped in three distinct places. (I have played the vinyl on another 2 players without incident. There is no issue with the records. Unfortunately mild scratches have occurred at the points where the skipping has occurred.) The sound reproduction on other older Vinyls (dating back to the 1960's and 1970's) that have played acceptably on several previous turntables sounded distorted and again skipped during strident or dramatic parts. I also noticed that the turntable did not seem to spin at a consistent speed. At times tracks seemed to sound as though the turntable was running slowly and then you heard a speeding up sound. The turntable used in the unit felt cheaper in quality to that used in my GPO Attache Player that I bought in 2017. The unit on which the turntable is mounted seemed to move around when you tried to unclip the stylus arm retaining clip, move the speed switch, or alter the automatic stop setting. I felt that I had to hold the unit steady with a finger on one hand; whilst operating the turntable with fingers on another hand. I did not get around to actually testing the Cassette player. The only comment that I would make is that the Cassette Unit has very basic functions. You can play, eject and fast forward only. There is no facility to stop, pause or to rewind the tape. There is no numeric counter on the Cassette player. I did not use the USB features. So I cannot comment on whether that aspect operated as it should. The quality of the Customer Service from the Seller that I bought from far outstripped the quality of the item.
