Review: This is quite a good product until it goes wrong. To raise a technical issue you have to open a support ticket. It takes days to get a reply. Nobody takes ownership of a problem, it feels like the replies are automatically generated. Completely faceless. It is now nearly 45 days since I raised an issue and I am still waiting for the promised resolution. You can call the sales team although they are business facing not retail facing. I did manage to extract a very reluctant apology (thank you so much) but couldn't secure a same day call back despite raising the problem 45 days ago! BE WARNED. Its a great product until you need some support!

Review: Energenie MIHO009 Alexa Compatible Mihome 2-Gang Light Switch I was really looking forward to getting this product and therefore the reality has come as a major disappointment. I thought the idea of a simple, economical smart device which could be retrofitted to your existing fittings was a really good take on the smart home idea. The fact that the company was English was a bonus as I always like to support home products. When I ordered this it showed as being a prime delivery which I would receive the next day. However, when I went to check why it hadn't arrived a couple of days later there was a vague note on Amazon saying that they would supply it as soon as possible. It was several weeks before it arrived and in that time I was given no updates on the problem or the possible timeframe. It arrived with a very inferior explanation as regards to fitting and the electrician was only comfortable deciding what to do when I read an answer to one of the questions on the Amazon product page. Still, with this information, he was able to fit it easily and I was able to swiftly partner the device with the "gateway" controller via my tablet. Naturally, the main reason for fitting an automatic light switch is to switch lights on automatically. Therefore I used the company app to set it so that when I opened the door at the end of the hallway one of the twin lights at the farther end would come on automatically so I could see what I was doing. This worked perfectly until the next day when I realised that it was coming on during daylight. I searched in vain on the app for a way to turn the trigger off during daylight hours. So I wrote to the company and asked how and was both frustrated and amazed when they said that at the moment they had no way of doing so! How many circumstances are there going to be when a device designed for home automation of light switches is going to be of practical use when it switches on throughout both day and night? I was told that they hoped at some time in the future to include the ability to switch the trigger on and off as was already possible on their passive motion sensor. So, as I had a motion sensor already doing another job I moved it so that it would be close to the hallway door. Even this did not solve my problem as despite setting it to only work between the hours of 10 PM until 2 AM I found that sometimes it would stick to the times given but at other times it would completely ignore them and switch the lights on during the day once again! I hope that in the future these problems will be fixed and these products will be an asset, however, I cannot help but conclude that in effect these are beta products which have been rushed to the market too soon before their functionality has been perfected. You can still use Google home or Alexa to switch the lights on by your voice but to me, the main functionality of such lights is to automatically come on via a trigger which they currently cannot do effectively. My advice would be to wait a year or two before purchasing these products when hopefully they will be market ready.
