Review: This really is a great little coffee making machine. It's incredibly well designed. The main reservoir for the water lifts out of the top of the machine via a useful fold down handle. Even the small inner filter basket, for the coffee beans or grounds, has its own little fold down handle, to enable the ease of lifting this out too. So cleaning after use is an absolute cinch. My cup of coffee tastes great and oddly it takes only half the time that my cafatier would need to make a brew. I only have a small kitchen so a larger machine capable of making cappuccino or latte coffees is not a viable option for me. Anyway, cost considerations plus available storage space, meant that I had to rule them out. This Tower compact unit is a winner however and I am delighted with it. It's compact size means that storing it away after use is no problem. I most highly recommend this coffee machine.

Review: I've been using "coffee pod" machines for a few years now but wanted to move away from all the plastic/packaging waste that comes with them. Considered a simple filter machine or cafetiere type jug but wanted something I could simply throw some coffee beans in - and I like gadgets. Found it easy enough to set up, although having used filter coffee makers in the past I sort of knew what to do. Instructions reasonably clear, although not the best (suspect they have been translated from the Chinese originals). Put water in reservoir, beans in grinding chamber, close the lid and press the Start button. Grinder function is loud - very loud - but only to be expected really as some very sharp blades are whizzing round at high speed and literally chopping the coffee beans into a coarse powder. Can alternatively use ready-ground coffee if you prefer (in which case there is no noise). Grinder appears to do a thorough job. Water is heated to boiling and allowed to trickle through the ground coffee and into the waiting jug. Once finished, the heating element switches on and off as needed, keeping the glass jug hot for 1/2 an hour or so before switching off completely. Clean-up is fairly easy as the brewing basket simply lifts out and then the water reservoir & brewing/grinding chamber likewise. All working parts can then be rinsed clean of coffee grounds under the tap. Will probably need a more thorough was with detergent etc every so often. All in all, a good entry-level bean-to-cup machine. Except for the grinder noise - it really is loud.
