Review: So if your buying this you already own a kitchen aid mixer, if you already own a kitchen aid mixer your probably a bit of a foodie (why else would you spend £500 on a mixer) If you are a bit of a foodie and capable of making your own ice creams - this does the churn part superbly well- easy to set up and use - I’ve made 3 ice creams, a frozen yoghurt and 2 sorbets so far all have work out with the perfect texture (I struggled with my other churn to get sorbets right)

Review: I live in France, but bought the Ice Cream attachment while in UK during the summer. I returned to France and used the machine no more than 5 times before noticing that the bowl was leaking blue gel while in the freezer. I asked Amazon for advice and they gave me contacts for Kitchen Aid. Kitchen Aid showed no interest at all in helping me. I was asked to take it to a small electronics repair shop an hours drive from my house in order to verify it was leaking. They would not accept photos and refused to say what they would do once the electronics shop had seen that it was leaking. I was a little shocked and upset at the money I seemed to have wasted and again contacted Amazon to ask what I could do. They offered to send me a new one in return for the old. My point is that I have noticed people making the same complaint on similar sites, but Kitchen Aid does not acknowledge there is a potential problem. If you are similarly affected, you two could risk getting only 5 batches of VERY expensive ice cream from your purchase. On a positive note, when this attachment functions, it is a workhorse. It makes great ice-cream with little fuss, as long as you remember to store it in the freezer so it is ready when you want it! My only, tiny, complaint, is that even while using Kitchen Aid's own recipes, the bowl comes close to overflowing while churning ... take care when adding your chocolate chips! It is, however, only thanks to Amazon's superb customer care, that I am churning as I type.
