Review: I have had this Vax vacuum cleaner for 9 months, so feel that I can make a good evaluation of its merits. I do not normally bother leaving reviews, but I have been so disappointed with this cleaner, I feel that I should point out its design flaws. When it is working, it has reasonable suction, but blocks up on a regular basis (weekly), while unblocking it is not difficult, it's an annoying messy procedure. The head provided is impossible to push on a carpet, I really mean impossible, not just difficult. I have tried it with the brushes up, and I have tried with the brushes down, with no luck. In the end I had to resort to using a head of an old cleaner. The cylinder has an annoying tendency to jam on to the main body of the machine when you are trying to take it off to empty. The bottom of the cylinder is prone to dropping open when you take it off, dropping its contents on the floor. On the plus side:- The filters are no more difficult to clean than any other vacuum cleaner. It feels well-built and will probably last years, if I do not lose patience with it in the meantime and throw it in the skip. I have had Vax cylinders in the past, which have provided good service. I cannot say the same for this one! Would I buy another, NO! Would I recommend it, NO!
