Review: Had noticed a drop in speed across my network and traced it back to an old switch. Replace it with this one and speeds have increased significantly.

Review: The single-row design of this switch with the power connector on the opposite side means you need a fair bit of room for it but on the other hand makes monitoring the status LEDs and, if wall-mounted, routing the cables easier. Without a fan, it doesn't need to be hidden away to suppress noise - it runs silently. The 802.1q VLAN works well to reduce inter-switch cabling and to break it up into multiple switches. I have it sharing VLANs with a number of similar Netgear GS108Ev3 & GS308E switches without a problem. A small niggle when using 802.1q is that there is no way to specify which VLAN the admin interface and its DHCP client should use, so it's easy to lose contact with web interface once configured & in place. (The Netgear devices have the same problem.)
