Review: 19 July 2020 Due to IOS 13 update, my Apple Pencil cannot Charge or connect by Bluetooth. I physically need to reveal the magnetic side of my iPad Pro 11inch 2018, and and ensure the pencil is in direct contact the magnet. So after IOS update, the case has become a magnet pencil holder only and not a charger. 26 September 2019 My review of the ‘Targus Pro-Tek Rotating Case’ for my Apple iPad Pro 11 inch and for my Apple Pencil 2nd Generation. I spent almost a year looking for a case that to me is the perfect case for my ‘Apple iPad Pro 11’ and ‘Apple Pencil 2nd Generation’. So far this case comes very very very close to a perfect case. It’s features looks as good as it functions. The colour available is black (or dark grey, one of my favourite colour). I hope future designs will be as good as this and better for the next version of Apple iPad Tablets. Design, Material and weight “very durable” I like the size and compact design of the case. I really like these kind of material too with large grooves to allow my finger to hold on the case and to prevent slipping. I like it’s sturdy design and strong solid weight. Honestly, it feels heavy. For me however, I would accept a little sacrifice on weight to ensure the safety of the iPad. Also, the iPad fits in the tray securely. I‘m so great full for the design & strength of the case protecting my iPad from an accident. I dropped the case with my iPad in it from chair height and fell on one of the corners to a carpet/timber floor. It bounced at least once; I think. I checked the corner of the case, not a scratch. I picked up the iPad and the magnetic strap remained intact, the cover still closed and my iPad didn’t fall out. So great full for that too. I lifted the cover and the iPad waked immediately. The corners, edges, glass screen is fine. No sign of damage to my iPad at all! The iPad fitted perfectly to the tray. It’s still in the same position as it was when I first slide it in. It didn’t pop out not one bit. The case & cover feels strong and it prevents my iPad from being bent/crushed/scratched/dented by all the stuff inside my bag such as my keys, water bottle, lunch box containers, umbrella handles etc. Rotating tray “so convenient!” I really like the rotating tray, portrait to landscape. It’s great because I don’t have to let go of the case to show anyone the screen. I can just rotate the tray to any degree I want to show others the screen. The frame/tray protects the iPad’s four edges and four corners perfectly. The corners is made of strong rubber or plastic. Buttons hole “very precise!” Finding the power button, volume buttons is even easier. Perfectly cut holes. USB-C cable hole “very precise!” I like how the USB-C cable can be plugged in perfectly. The hole for the cable is cut precisely. Never had a problem plugging the USB cable in. The cable didn’t pop out like order cases. Made easier to find the USB slot actually. Audio/Camera hole “very precise!” Again precise size holes on the tray. Sound and vision is uninterrupted. Cover “very clever design!” I like the covers sturdy design and works perfectly with iPad Sleep/Wake function. I like numerous ways to stand, lay and hold the iPad. Apple Pencil holder “perfect fit!” I like the perfect location and fit for the Pencil. It connects and charges perfectly each time. The Pencil stays attached always, as in it does not fall off unless you open the strap and remove the pencil yourself. There is also another pencil holder on the base of the case which made of elastic fabric. The best ergonomically designed and sturdy case I have seen so far!

Review: PROTECTION When I removed the case from the packaging, I was surprised to find that the back of the case was not rigid given the amount of protection it claims to offer. I can see how the flexible rubber/silicon construction and secure front closure provide a good level of shock protection if dropped, but if you are looking for a case that provides the device with protection against bending/flexing then look elsewhere. The front cover is more rigid, but still has some flex. The front cover sits slightly off the screen, reducing risk of scratching from particles trapped between cover and screen. FITTING/FIT The back is bendy thick rubber/silicon type material and fits on to the ipad very easily, covering the front edges of the tablet with accurate cutouts for the buttons. Speaker/camera/ports are nicely centred. I don't yet have a screen protector on, so I am not yet sure about how the edges will work with this. The cover looks smart when closed. FRONT COVER The front protects the screen well and secures with a wide wrap-over magnetic closure flap which wakes the device on opening. When the case is open as a stand, this flap initially stood up obscuring the screen meaning it had to be folded back underneath. Having done this for a few minutes, the flap now sits completely flat against the table. Great a stand on a hard surface, a bit wobbly on your lap/chest. Holding the tablet in portrait orientation, the front cover folds back flat against the rear of the case and the closure tab will either flap about or need to be tucked in between the tablet and the folded back cover. I think the closure magnet is supposed to hold it in place here, but it doesn't quite manage it. The grippy surface of the flap does help hold the tablet in place (less sliding against the cover). The textured rubberised surface inside the front cover grips the device and allows it to sit at any angle. However the pattern of small indented triangles which make up the grippy surface are a magnet for small particles, which the rubberised coating makes hard to just brush off with your hand meaning the inner flap looks grubby fairly quickly. The particles do brush off when wiped with a lens cloth, but it takes patience. SOUND The case does alter the sound of the ipad. For me, this was an improvement - I found the artificially wide sound of the naked ipad a little grating and thin sounding. The case does direct the sound forward, as claimed, reducing the thin projected surround effect of the speaker without muting, muffling or altering tone - it just thickens it up a little. BUTTON ACCESS With any case of the type thee buttons are accessed through cutouts in the case material, this helps protect the buttons from damage but means they are obviously more difficult to access. The power button sits on the top left and is on is a little tricky using your left hand due to the thickness of the case (I'd guess about 3.5mm). It is much easier if you reach around the back or the case with your right hand (okish on the 10.5, wouldn't be good on the bigger version). I am left handed, so this is not something I would naturally do. Volume buttons are easier to access as the the cutout is obviously bigger, there is a bigger gap to the right to make it easier for access with right hand (fine in portrait mode). Personally I would rather the edge of the screen was protected than have the cut away be deeper. I have small hands, it may be a problem with bigger fingers. PORT CUTOUTS Headphones and charging port easy to use with original lightning lead. The lightning port cutout is too small to accept an apple pencil,which needs to be inserted to pair EVERY time you use it. I use a cable extender to plug in the pencil so I don't have to bend back the case (easy enough to do). I prefer this method as I worry about snapping the lightning connector off the end of the pencil. Camera/flash cutout is good - .the thickness of the material still allows for the lens to be recessed and protected - definitely a plus as the lens protrudes from the back of the tablet, making it vulnerable to damage. Overall, I would say ease of button access is on a par with cases of this type.
