Review: Purchased to use at work and save money on shop bought coffees. I drink unsweetened black coffee so this type of machine is perfect for me. At this price it pays for itself within a month compared with Pret filter coffees at 99p a go. Bit difficult to rate on taste as surely that has more to do with the coffee you put it in it, no? It comes with a 'spoon' and two scoops is fine for me to get a good coffee flavour without being too strong. It makes around 2/3 standard mug fulls which is more than enough for me, but might seem a bit like short change if you're considering a machine for two people. If you need a machine for the family / two or more people choose another machine as this only makes 750ml. The brew is delivered pretty quickly and will be kept warm for around 30 minutes (slightly less than advertised, but I don't find this an issue). The coffee pot will drip if you attempt to poor to quickly! The lid on the pot needs to stay in place as this holds the drip feed open while brewing. I did try brewing with the lid open as coffee will fill the top of lid during the brew process but all this will do is cause the water not to drip through the filter. The filter itself is washable so there's no need to use filter bags with this machine. You will get a few grounds coming through the filter but not enough to make me want to use a paper filter. It may not happen at all if using a coarser grind. As a smaller machine it doesn't take up much room on my desk and could be left out on a kitchen worktop. I haven't used the timer function but it seems straightforward enough. You would need to leave the machine plugged in so the clock stays on if you were setting up a timed start, however as the brew itself is quite fast I am not sure why anyone would bother.
