Review: I got this product so i could use my macbook as a desktop pc without having t faff about unplugging monitor cables, mouse, keyboard etc.. from my desktop windows computer. This product does exactly what it says it does. nothing to install just easy plug and play. only downside is that it seems a little pricey for a box that just switches between two pc's.

Review: Given the lack of Dual DVI KVM Switches on the market, I was really excited when I found this one. In general, it does what it says - it allows you to have a single keyboard, mouse, speakers and 2 monitors, and connect them to multiple computers. I have mine connected to a Dell laptop in a docking station, a Mac Mini and a desktop PC, and it more or less works. There are a couple of issues, though: 1) There's no consistency internally in the box as to which audio channel is left and right, so on one of my devices, the audio channels are swapped. 2) Within the first few weeks of use, I completely lost audio from my desktop PC. Since I rarely use this device, it wasn't worth trying to get an exchange, but it's not great! 3) Occasionally, when you switch between devices, the mouse doesn't make it, and you have to switch away and back again to fix it. 4) The most annoying issue though, is that whilst typing, the unit will often "beep", send the screens black, then return them a few seconds later. This is incredibly annoying, but I'm under no illusions that sending it back for an exchange will improve things, so I'm living with it. In summary, this is a really expensive piece of kit that does the job, but only just! Update: After using this for a couple of years, I have to say that it's the most frustrating, barely functional piece of junk that I've ever had the misfortune of needing to use! Since writing my original review, one of the inputs no longer works in terms of controlling the PC, but it has to be selected whilst the PC boots in order for it to recognise monitors. Once of the other channels has started to have terrible interference on the audio (I've tried different cables - it's definitely the KWM), and the black screen issue has gone from once every few weeks, to 6-7 times an hour! I made the mistake at some point of attempting to get support from the manufacturer. If you are considering this, do yourself a favour and don't bother. That level of incompetence might actually be contagious...! I will be replacing this with the considerably more expensive unit from ATEM, but given my experience with ATEM devices, I suspect it will just work nicely.
