Review: We purchased this product for a very specific use case. We need to pass 4K video to a 4K display and simultaneously downscale to 720p on output 2. The product description states: The HDMI 2.0 splitter supports HDCP 2.2 and is backward compatible with 4K 30Hz, 1080p and 720p displays. The first unit we purchased had an obvious rattle when moved, so clearly something was damaged internally. We did not power it up but returned it. The 2nd one arrived quickly. However, no combination of switch settings allowed this setup to work. Attempting to contact StarTech support is an exercise in futility. There is no email available, the phone rings forever, attempting to start a Live Chat stalls after selecting the type of customer, and filling out the support request form on the website results in an error message and the request never submits. I can accept that sometimes dud hardware slips through the cracks, but we were disappointed by the utter absence of any support for the product.
