Review: Love the Sonos Five, the sound in sublime, easy to set up using the Sonos app, I was a little apprehensive at first about using Wi-Fi instead of blue tooth to connect via the app, but to be honest, my concerns were unfounded and I’ve no complaints using it, would highly recommend.

Review: I’m transitioning my system from Apple homepods over to Sonos five and Sonos one SL. Simply because of the lack of support for homepods, otherwise I’d have kept them. In comparison the homepod offers far better sound quality and depth. The Sonos five is still an excellent device but just not as good. The lack of Bluetooth is incredibly annoying (only works over WiFi) as now an additional transmitter is required to get devices such as vinyl players or other hi fi equipment, to connect as the SONOS speaker requires interaction with you phone. If your WiFi drops, the speakers are rendered useless. On that note; another annoyance is the Sonos five won’t play music via line in (wired) unless you select the drop down from your phone first... every time. You can set the app to ‘auto play’ but you still need the app to set this. I’m now keeping my homepods as part of my surround sound setup for films and using my Sonos speakers for just music and general connectivity to devices and players. If you have nothing to compare the speaker to, it’s great. ???????? just think better are available.
