Review: I needed to replace my old phone which was terrible. I had to charge it 4 times a day and it drained the battery so quick. After researching for 3 hours, I went for this phone. Battery life is perfect, phone is great and easy to use. Couldn't be happier

Review: I am aware this phone is pretty 'cheap', but is it good value? I would say not.. I came from an HTC U11. That five year old phone was better than this new Samsung phone in nearly every way. Shame the battery started to play up or would still be using it. This Samsung A22 feels solid and well made. Some might say bulky and heavy, but I like that it feels solid. As long as you turn the brightness up to full and disable the auto brightness feature the screen is pretty good and easy to read in most light. Call sound quality is good and for me not many calls get dropped. I'm a fairly light user, the average day would be some internet total15-20 mins, a couple of calls, mainly it is used for texts. So battery life is actually good for me. Easily a day and a half sometimes two days. While it seems able to run most apps that I have tried, there is often considerable lag. I regularly shut down running apps to try keep it running smoothly. Camera is rubbish in anything other than bright daylight. Shutter lag in dim light makes night shots other than scenery a no go. Selfie camera is terrible, grainy and reverses all your images.... When making a call the 'ear detector', does not work very well. Not sure of the official name, basically the sensor that turns the screen off when making a call to stop you inadvertently hanging up with an earlobe. Anyway the screen stays on most of the time while on a call, sometimes irritatingly flashing on and off at the side of your face, and many people have been put on hold, or speakerphone, or just cut off mid call because of this... Another small thing, but if the screen is off (so 90% of the time) you cannot see if you have an unread message or missed a call without picking up the phone and enabling the screen. My old HTC had an LED that would flash to indicate if you had a message, so you could look at the phone without needing to touch it and know if you had missed something. Just a handy feature not included here.... But by a country mile the most irritating feature is the terrible finger print reader. Firstly for some reason you can only store 3 finger prints, then it fails to recognise any of my prints most of the time, so I hardly bother now and just go straight to the pin unlock. It also annoyingly on first try to read a fingerprint informs you that you have exceeded the allowed amount of attempts, and locks you out from trying again........ quite frustrating!!! Oddly when using the banking app on the same phone it recognises nearly every time, as did my old phone. In summary I have only had this phone a few months and am looking to change it already............
