Review: This is a fantastic camera for video conferencing. I've previously used my iMac's built-in camera (awful) and a Logitech C920S (better) and this is head and shoulders above both. PROS It's compact - a lot smaller than most other HD webcams I've seen & used. Simple connection - USB-A and that's it. I didn't install any additional software on my Mac and it works flawlessly with Teams, Zoom and Skype. You can physically close the shutter - some other webcams have a flimsy hinged flap to hide the camera, this one has it built-in - you turn the lens to close the shutter and the status light turns red. Nice. It's not black! It's a mottled-white/grey thing which certainly stands out. Whether that's to your taste or not... Fantastic low-light performance - the image remains clear and bright even in low light conditions, with no blurring or focus-shifting. It's the best low-light camera I've used. Brilliant picture quality - this is the best HD camera I've used, way better than my previous C920S. The quality really is fantastic (note that you'll probably need to enable the 'HD' option in the video settings of Teams/Zoom etc.). Doesn't lose focus - one of my big bugbears with my Logitech camera is the focusing - sometimes, if I move about, it'll lose focus on me and focus on the background or something closer to the camera. I have to turn the camera off and back on again to reset it. I've never had this issue with this camera - focus remains on you all the time. CONS It's pricey, but you do get what you pay for. It's twice the cost of the C920S and, I'd say, twice the camera (just the quality and focus alone make it worth it) The status light remains on all the time, even when your machine is sleeping - it took me a while to clock that "light on does not mean you're on a call". It'd be good if the light went off when the machine sleeps, but not a biggie. All in all, this is a great webcam and I'm super happy with my purchase!

Review: Pleasantly simple, hardly any unneccesary packaging, so it was really quick and easy to get the thing out and get started. Mostly cardboard as well so points for recyclability. The device looks nice, fairly small so it doesn't draw a lot of attention on a desk. It's a kind of white speckled colour that sets it apart but doesn't stand out. It's a shame it uses the old USB-A plug, especially in 2022 at this price point. I would have preferred to see a USB-C connector and an adapter for USB-A. The privacy shutter is a nice touch, really simple and intuitive to use, twist it to close and open. The shutter is bright red so you can tell instantly by looking at it when it's closed or open. There's also a little indicator LED on top that's red when it's closed and white when it's open. The stand attaches easily to the top of the monitor, allows adjustment of the angle and holds the camera securely. I tested the webcam on a Mac, although I imagine the experience is very similar on Windows. Plugging it in it's detected and usable straight away, no downloads or drivers required. There is an app that can be downloaded, which is simple and inuitive to use. On first launch it recommends a software update for the camera, which doesn't take long and reboots the camera automatically. Camera quality is hit and miss; the auto-focus is quick and accurate, and in the right lighting conditions the colours are accurate and the picture is sharp. In low light conditions, the picture turns grainy quickly, and colours wash out dramatically; skin tones have a blue hue. In direct sunlight, the camera's exposure can't go low enough, and so the picture turns overly bright and washed out. If you have a space with controlled lighting conditions this could be a great option, but otherwise the camera struggles to cope with changes in lighting and that limits it's appeal
