Review: The media could not be loaded. No fuss. No hassle. Just plonk on the table in front of the screen and begin to enjoy. If you wanna get a projector that requires a proper install go ahead. As a complete novice to the world of projectors, I am instantly hooked and love showing off my hundred inch plus screen to all my friends for a price of about £400. My only top piece of advice for people considering entering the world of projectors is to consider paying a couple of hundred pounds for a very good quality screen. You can of course use a wall that is painted white. I started off with a very cheap screen and the image quality was poor. When I upgraded to a proper projector screen that cost me £200 I was instantly blown away. It may not be a fancy 4K projector as there aren’t many short or ultra short throw projectors on the market at the moment, But boy am I impressed! It may only be 1080p but this is more than enough to provide a really high-quality image especially when combined with Blu-ray DVDs. I haven’t use the 3-D yet but to be honest I don’t want to as the image quality is already outstanding enough. I simply love the plug and play with this project. I’m burning it off my PlayStation at present and of course this works with Netflix and all the other apps you could perceive by the PlayStation network. The sound quality is good enough but I may invest in a sound bar as I do like a bit more bass. If you want you could also add a surround sound system to this projector. One piece of advice I will give my fellow Newbys is to make sure your projector screen works with a short film or an Altra short throw projector screen. I purchased one by a company called Sapphire which said my screen would not work with shorts for projector but believe me it works fine. I think some of these companies just want to shag you are fixed frame projector for more money. No matter how much somebody spends on a brand-new television, the well factor of a huge cinema screen in your front room cannot be beaten regardless of how good your friends television is. The projector will always beat it. If you do invest in a cable and a pulldown and I think it works just fine. You can also buy cables that you can plug your laptop or smart phone into this projector so you can watch videos you have installed from your iTunes account et cetera. I was tempted to buy the more expensive shorts well Optima 1080p projector the Darbee, But many people had complained that some of the films started to appear almost cartoonlike which spoilt the quality and originality of the movies. Believe me guys and girls, you will not be upset with this project especially as a Newby starting in this fantastic world. It’s probably the only purchased in the last 10 years I’ve made that I thoroughly enjoy and can’t wait to get home to. Update 9mths later It’s dead as ever. The bulb has died after less than 100 hrs use! Far from impressed. I refuse to buy a £200 bulb for 9% of its intended life. Amazon as usual are great with issues tho.

Review: - Liked - Fan slightly quieter than most projectors. Good remote (grey front won't yellow like white remotes do). Picture seemed like genuine 1080p (not unclear, or washed-out, like cheaper no-brand types are). - Disliked - There was no screen size adjustment feature. It does have focus (unblurs image, but doesn't adjust image size). When I ordered, I assumed it'd allow size adjustment, but this short-throw type doesn't. My wall 200cm wide, and projector stand 270cm away, was fine for old projector (lasted many years but eventually stopped starting). Expected same with this one, but from that distance, about 3m screen-size was minimum width. Would have returned it (bought from Amazon Warehouse), but assumed dial for adjusting size was jammed, and broke lens completely, when trying to make it turn to reduce screen size. I think it's because this is short-throw type. I thought that just meant for home use, rather than conference use, when I ordered. However, it means, close placement to screen. Google suggests short throw means 3-8ft, but I think even 8ft, is too far to project as small as 2m wide. I don't think the amazon page has sizes and distances, so it'd be easy to make similar mistake. Confusingly, instruction sheet it comes with, shows usual 2 adjustment dials (one focus, one distance). Maybe it shares instructions with non-short throw version. -Conclusion- Seemed like quite a good projector, but buyers should check official distances chart on maker site (if they don't, they might find that their wall or screen, is too small, for where they need to place machine).
