Review: My older Denon x3400 broke after too few years, and being impressed with the NR1607 I have elsewhere and loving how Marantz squeeze all of the functionality into the formfactor, I though this was worth a try. Enough has been written about these, read the reviews from pro reviewers, but I would say for the money it sounds great driving a set of Mission M3. I ran the setup and then tweaked the sound for my wierd accoustics, and it now sounds great, delivering a bigger sound than you would think from a hifi sized amp. Ithought that the lower power output may limit the volume on less sensitive speakers, but so far I have tried this on a set of old Kef q3 5.1 and it still went uncomfortably loud for a smallish lounge to watch a film. In short superb, and a bargain when compared to this year's Cinema 70 s model.

Review: Very quiet amp, needs to be on extra loud just to get sound. Picture quality is poor, very grainy. User interface is ridiculously bad, it's as bad as Tesco's aisles, nearly impossible to find anything (where do they hide the custard?). Voices seem to go out of sync alot. Peter Tyson though were brilliant and nothing but praise for them. The lesson here is to not buy an amp over the Internet, instead it's better to go to the high Street and listen to the quality yourself.
