Review: I do a huge amount of typing and wanted a good quality keyboard which didn't make too much noise. I type while on the phone to clients and I didn't want it to be obvious to the person I'm talking to. This is perfect.

Review: This keyboard is another disappointment from logitech, as most of the hardware they now make is. However the main problem I have with this keyboard is that the F keys do their shortcut when you press them and you must use the function key to use them as the normal F keys. This results in certain commands in Linux that I often do such as Ctrl + Alt + F1 requiring the function key to be held as well. What would be wrong with having all the short cuts on the F keys having the "function" button required like on other keyboards. My old logitech keyboard has a function button with a blue icon on it, and all the f keys have a blue icon for their extra functions, such as play / pause and other things. The fact that is is the opposite way round on this keyboard is ridiculous and is the main reason why I am going to return it. The quality of the key feedback also doesn't feel great and sounds really cheap. The strange thing is that the keys themselves are relatively quiet, but them rising back up makes an odd ticking sound - especially the space bar. That is very annoying as the space bar itself is very quiet when pressed down, but when you release it, the tick is pretty loud. What causes these tick sounds is the membrane pulling away from what it contacts below as it is released. It is hard to describe, but the sound makes it feel like it is sticky which makes the typing experience sound and feel unpleasant. I bought this as I'm wanting a white keyboard with media keys, but getting a good quality one seems pretty difficult.
