Review: We needed a new fan for the living room during the hot weather this year and this cropped up at a decent price. It replaced a traditional oscillating desk type fan that failed and has done a sterling job! It takes up very little floor space, being an upright model and has a broad sweep of movement so covers the sitting area very well. The remote works from a reasonable distance, but only when the fan is pointing directly at the remote, the red eye must be buried in the front somewhere. It seems pretty sturdy on its base and is well made for the money, doesn't feel cheap at all. The base wasnt difficult to fit and was the only peice of assembly required. Level 1 speed is pretty quiet, no need to turn the TV up and quite bearable without the TV on at all. Levels 2 and 3 get noisier as the speed increases, but not distractingly so. I'm sure it would be comfortable to sleep with in the bedroom but we haven't tried it. Can't comment on the timer or sleep mode as we haven't used it.

Review: I bought this after reading so many good reviews. It is okay, but isn't any better than an ordinary 3-blade fan. Remote control is handy - however, you have to point it at the sensor - but if the fan is oscillating then you have to wait until the sensor is facing you to get the remote control to function. Sleep mode does nothing but make me more awake - the stop/start function is not relaxing at all. So the sleep mode goes unused. The sound of the fan is pretty good. I wouldn't say it was exactly quiet - but is certainly far from the noisiest. The biggest disappointment for me was that even on the highest setting, it just is not powerful enough for what I wanted it for. I have 2 huskies, and through the heatwave decided to invest in another tower fan so that they could have one each (as well as numerous cool mats). This fan, even set on 3, barely ruffled their fur. It is a nonrefundable item on amazon. So make sure you do your research before you decide to buy.
