Description: The Sterile Eye Dressing is a must have in any first aid kit. The Hypa Cover Sterile Eye Dressing is suitable for minor eye injuries and provides initial protection from possible infection. This great quality eye dressing includes a cushioned pad and a strong elastic bandage which works to hold the pad in place. If the patient has a serious eye injury or there is something embedded in the eye medical advice should be sought urgently and an eye dressing should not be applied. When applying an eye dressing it should not be applied too tightly and there should not be too much pressure on the eye socket. Review: I already had one of these in my first aid kit at home & unexpectedly received a blow to the eye the other day. It took 2 days for my eye to stop watering profusely & at first I was walking around holding a tissue to my eye as otherwise I literally had tears dripping off my chin which was really annoying. I used the eye dressing to hold a clean tissue against my eye so I could have both my hands free. Other than the fact half the world decided to knock on my door that day & everyone who saw the dressing seemed to think I must have done something terrible that needed a doctor (without seeing anything other than me with this on), this was a perfect solution to my temporary issue. Had my eye continued to water like that I would have sought medical attention, but in less than 48 hours it was back to normal & looking like nothing had ever happened. I've now picked up a couple more as replacements, because I couldn't get anything done when I had to hold a tissue up to my eye so this 50p thing saved me wasting 2 days waiting for my eye to feel better. When you need one, you need one - well worth adding to your first aid kit - even if you just use it for long enough to get to A&E.

Review: I have been using first aid products for three decades and I've never had the misfortune of using eye patches like these. The actual patch is considerably smaller than usual and made of a horrible, plasticky material that does not soak up any liquid. To make matters worse, instead of having a short and a long "tail", the patch is positioned in the middle of the strip of bandage, so you need to unroll half of it in order to reach it. This makes the bandaging process far fiddlier than it needs to be, and increases the risk of bandage contamination.
