Review: Der Adapter erfüllt mehr oder weniger schnörkellos das versprechen von kabellosem VR Sessions im heimischen Wohnzimmer. Das System ist etwas klobig aber sobald alles am HMD befestigt ist ergibt sich schon ein gutes stabiles Gesamtbild, was sich auch im Tragekomfort und bei der Bedienung wieder spiegelt. Die Software war schnell installiert und funktioniert direkt tadellos ohne lange Bastelei. Es gibt allerdings ein großen Nachteil: Ich habe abgesehen von der Vive Pro Eye alle bisherigen Vive Modelle. Natürlich habe ich zunächst das Headset mit der besten nativen Auflösung getestet (Vive Pro 2) und bin leider doch ziemlich enttäuscht gewesen wie wenig von der ursprünglichen Bildqualität noch bleibt, selbst nach dem die Auswahl an Einstellungen nach der Veröffentlichung der Pro 2 per Firmware erweitert wurden. Das Bild ist hier schlicht zu schwammig und kein Vergleich zu dem Erlebnis mit Kabel. Allerdings habe ich mit dem Adapter meiner etwas älteren Vive Pro neues Leben einhauchen können. Da hier die native Auflösung unterstützt wird geht nicht nur keine Bildqualität verloren, ich finde das native Bild auch tatsächlich sehr viel besser als die hoch skalierte Variante mit der Vive Pro 2. (Was vielleicht auch an dem kleineren Sichtfeld liegen mag) Daher kann ich jedem Besitzer einer der älteren HMDs durchaus eine Kaufempfehlung aussprechen. Wegen der eher mäßigen Unterstützung der PRO 2 muss ich allerdings 2 Sterne abziehen. Man hätte meiner Ansicht nach auch durchaus mehr Luft nach oben einplanen können als dieser Adapter konzipiert wurde. Schließlich hat HTC das gesamte Ökosystem im eigenen Haus und daher jede Möglichkeit eine zukünftige Brille (und potentielles Upgrade für bereits zufriedene Kunden) bei der Planung zu berücksichtigen.
