Review: Warning Please do your research before purchasing this or other Hotpoint items. I purchased this washing machine 13 months ago and and typically, just out of guarantee, a fault code appeared, F18, which wouldn’t clear, rendering the machine useless. A coincidence that it failed just out of warranty? The fixed cost for a call-out is £150 to replace the part on a fairly new machine which cost nearly £400. Please don’t make the same mistake, I have now done my homework, and had to purchase a Samsung for £500 but at least it comes with a 5 year parts AND labour guarantee, to give peace of mind. I have found customer service shocking with Hotpoint and lacking in several areas. This is not just ‘sour grapes’ but my 2nd faulty Hotpoint appliance. The 1st being a very dangerous 6 week old gas cooker whose lid dropped due to faulty hinges, throwing boiling water over my daughter! No more Hotpoint! Sort yourselves out!
