Review: Perfect hoover for me, easy to empty, need to get used to putting back together the waste compartment tho. Really powerful. The cord could be longer. The sound of the hoover is more or less same as any other. Got it on sale and does everything hoover needs to do, so im really pleased with this buy. Delivery service excellent, thank you!

Review: The suction on this vacuum cleaner is really quite amazing for its size, that would warrant 5 stars. However, because the suction is so good, the brush head rather 'clamps' itself to the carpet a little too solidly and (as others have said) makes it very difficult to push the brush head forward. You can pull it towards you, but if your vacuuming a rug, then that tends to pull the rug with it! And sometimes you end up pulling the hose pipe attachment out of the brush head pipe. You can overcome the 'carpet clamping' problem by opening the air-flow/vacuum regulator thing in the handle which reduces the suction reaching the brush head, BUT this results in a significant increase in the noise dB as the air rushes (in quite a high pitched woosh) through the open hole. And of course reduces the dirt vacuuming power. Very disappointing that you have to do this in what is an otherwise reasonably quiet vacuum cleaner with super suction abilities. I'm sure a redesign of the brush head (perhaps little caster wheels?) would eliminate both problems. The length of the electric cord is a little on the short side. It could do with being another 2 or 3 meters in length meaning you don't have to keep unplugging and moving the vacuum cleaner around the house (obviously this depends on the size of your house). Of course, a longer electric cord means a bigger housing and therefore a slightly bigger cleaner. I also found that the electric cord repeatedly trapped itself in-between the wheels and the cleaner sides because the wheels are a bit like cheap nasty frisbees stuck on the sides and the cable just traps itself under the gap below the frisbee like wheels. The brush handle extends (control to disengage the ratchet to allow it to slide in/out seems to work backwards ie. you're pulling the control button up and pushing the metal pipe in/out which is awkward while vacuuming, would be better if the control button pushed down to disengage the ratchet allowing the pipe extension to slide in/out) but the full extension is about 2 or 3 inches too short. That means you have to stoop slightly while vacuuming (depends on how tall you are) and because the brush head is 'clamped' to the carpet due to the incredible suction power, it means it's quite a workout just to vacuum the house with this cleaner! Not suitable for a pensioner! It's not difficult to empty the contents, but it's not a simple click-button and all the dust falls out the bottom. You have to lift the collection box out of the cleaner, twist the lid part to the side to lift it off, put the now unattached lid down while you then lift off the spongy filter underneath the lid and place that down somewhere, and then you can tip the dust out if the collector box. Put the spongy filter back on top of the collector box, put the lid back on with the right alignment and twist it right/left to lock the lid back on and finally reinsert the dust collector box back onto the cleaner unit. Not difficult, just fiddly as the lid and filter are all separate bits which you need to set down on the floor while holding onto the collector box so you don't spill it. A good vacuum cleaner with excellent suction power but needs a few areas redesigned to improve it. UPDATE: After 6months of using this vacuum cleaner, i feel compelled to re-rate it and update my review in the negative. This vacuum is SUCH hard work - its nothing to do with the suction power (which, although not as good as it was when new, its still pretty good), but its to do with the design of the vacuum unit itself. The main issue is that the wheels stick out significantly on the left/right of the back end of the unit. This means as you drag it along and in/out of rooms it *constantly* gets itself wedged around the door frames and you have to back-up and free the unit before you can carry on cleaning. This doesnt seem like a big deal, but when it gets stuck almost every door and obstacle in the room it just becomes infuriating. And because the wheels are large and on the back end of the unit with the hose connection protruding from the *low* front end, whenever you give the Hoover a bit of a tug on the hose (probably because its become wedged around the end of the bed or doorframe) then the unit flips up onto its back wheels and often overturns onto its top. Its just really really annoying and irritating. Also, i've noticed the the little wheels that the designers have placed on the back end of the main brush head (probably in an attempt to correct the fact the brush sticks so strongly to floors) actually make the issue worse because when you push the head forward, the little wheels work and the head shoots forward an inch or two, then the angle means the brush hits the carpet and the head stops and then the wheels kick-in, then the brush and so on and on. So, in effect, the brush is stop/go,stop/go,stop/go when pushing forward and this action is hard on the hands/arms - its just not a smooth vacuuming experience! And, a more minor complaint, i've found that the hose length is about 6inches shorter than it needs to be - it means you have to stoop more giving you back and neck pains! In summary, the Hoover has good suction power, but the unit is so poorly designed from a 'human use' point of view that I would never buy one again (even with the good suction abilities). If you are aged over 60years then I really do recommend that you do NOT buy this Hoover - its WAY too much work for someone of elder years (which I am not yet!) UPDATE2: After 1year of using this hoover, I've decided that it is SUCH hard work, I'm giving up on it. It's just too much effort pulling/pushing, re-righting it upright, fiddling with the dust box lid, plugging/unplugging because of the short cable etc etc etc. I've just 'had it' with struggling with the poor design of the unit and have opted to buy an upright 'Shark' vacuum instead. I **STRONGLY** recommend that you do not purchase this hoover if you are looking for a standard household cleaner - it's just not fit for this purpose.
