Review: Putting here my whole story, maybe somebody finds it helpful. I needed a compact case for an all-purpose build and already had experience with the the Define R6, so I knew I wanted another Fractal Design case. I also considered the Define C and Meshify C, which have some advantages over the 7 Compact, like included fan controller, smaller size and possibly price (at least for Define C). Meshify C and Define C share the same chasis, so in theory you can convert between the two depending on whether you need a silent case or a high airflow case. The catch is the Define C only comes with white bladed fans, white slot covers and normal tinted tempered glass panel. The Meshify comes in an all black option with a dark tinted TG panel, however there is no solid top panel included and the metal panel isn't soundproofed like on the Define C. Finally, one would struggle to fit an AIO larger than 240mm in the Meshify/Define, especially with a full size (i.e. 30cm) GPU card. The 7 Compact gains about 3cm in both depth and height, eliminating issues with most AIO sizes. It is soundproofed, but also includes a second top cover for increased airflow. Finally, it is available as full black AND a dark tinted TG panel. However, unlike the Define/Meshify C cases, it does not include a fan controller; whether this is an issue or not, depends on the particular build. There is limited space for 3.5" drives, (which compete with cables storage and possibly a front 360 AIO), but this is also the case with most modern 'compact' ATX cases. One last annoyance, the side panels feature tool-less installation; this is great for quick access, however with less than perfect cable management, the right side can burst open due to the tension.
