Review: After a little research and reading a few reviews I decided on this projector for home movie nights and sports events. The projector arrived quickly and safely from Amazon. Being the type of person I am I unboxed it, plugged it in, connected a dvd player via HDMI and played a movie straight away(Terminator 3, since you asked). It was the middle of the day in a north facing room with the light on, in July and it was immediately apparent that projectors have come a long way in the 20 years since I've used one. I turned off the light and shut the blind and was very impressed with the brightness of the picture, the colours and the sheer size of the image. The projector was 3.3 metres from the wall and the image was huge, about 3 metres across diagonally. As for the actual picture quality, well I was using a £29 DVD player and an old movie do it wasn't the best, I then hooked it up to the satellite receiver, again very easy through the HDMI port, selected a HD channel and stepped back in amazement, what a difference. Selecting the picture modes is easy on the remote and in the dark I found the movie or game modes to be good for me,the cinema and bright cinema modes are amazing but a bit full on for our small room, I'll be using them for outdoor movie nights though as the darker evenings come. Some reviews have mentioned the fan noise, well, unless you're watching snooker in bright cinema mode you won't notice it, in game mode it's very quiet and you won't hear it over whatever you're watching. The sound from the built in speakers is ok but will sound better when you connect it to your JBL or soundbar, I use a JBL and it's great. In summary it was very easy to set up without even reading the instructions, which I still haven't read, the keystone settings are obvious as is the rest of it, there's lots of adjustment for colour and contrast for those that think they know what they're doing but I leave it alone as it looks great to me anyway. There maybe better projectors out there but this is from a name I trust, at a price I can afford and performs better than I could have hoped for.

Review: I am still paying for this projector as I bought it over 12 months instalments. I wasn't stupid enough to believe the 18 year bulb life but I did rather hope the bulb would last longer than my instalment plan. I did not watch it every day and I used Eco mode, which I found to be not much dimmer than full brightness. In fact, I have no complaints about the brightness, which is quite good enough to watch in a dimmish room in daylight, with the blinds open and so forth. Picture quality wasn't the sharpest over a 90 inch screen but it was decent enough, and the projector is bright enough to use on a non-white wall without a projector screen. Just very disappointed with the lamplife.
