Review: I owned a Bridge Camera many years ago which eventually came to the end of its useful life. Due to personal circumstances I did not replace the item. Having decided it was the appropriate time I investigated several Bridge Cameras and decided this was the one for me. I have had the camera for just over a week and am really only just getting to know its potential. So far I cannot rate it high enough, but to be honest I have only used it on Intelligent Auto Plus. When I take pictures and print those I wish to keep and the results are excellent - far better than I was expecting. It will be interesting to see how it performs when I am on holiday but I cannot see any reason why it should be any different from my local area. I read comments regarding noise and can only say noise, what noise! For me the only two downsides are no external charger and only one battery (I always like a backup). Both these issues are easily resolved. To date excellent. Would recommend.

Review: Hmm, so I got this yesterday and have only really had a good chance to turn it on and have a look at the features and functionality, and boy does it have a lot of those. First impressions are (I've not taken any photos yet) ... It looks and feels a big camera (I've only ever had compact cameras in the digital age, film SLRs prior to that). Luckily enough it's quite light with the battery in and the size is reassuring in the hand. The grip is a good size. It doesn't come with a battery charger, just a lead (normal micro USB) so you plug the camera in to charge it, that to me is a minus point especially considering how much this costs. If you go to the Panasonic site they show the retail price as being £699:99 so don't pay £749 for this, I got it on a Saturday deal of the day for £619. Now...for me the current issue I have with it is it is noisy, it is sitting on my desk just turned on and I can hear the noise of the camera over the fan from my laptop, apparently this is the image stabilisation system and cannot be turned off. If you are wanting to buy this for the 4K movie functionality then you'll need to by a separate mic as the in built mic will pick up all this noise. I'm going to go out and take some pictures with it over the next few days but at this present time I'm considering returning it due to the noise. I bought it for still photography and the occasional video but this noise is really bugging me. Update July 12th. I've sent the camera back, the noise the OIS system made irritated me far too much. This does not detract from the pictures this camera takes or the capability / functionality I think I just got a very noisy one. Apparently pretty much all cameras with an OIS system will make a noise of some varying level, I must've just got a really noisy one. I'm gonna think about my options but I'm really disappointed that I couldn't keep this one because it does take some cracking photos.
