Review: Bought this to provide portable cool air distribution during those brief spells in the British summer when breathing warm air and producing quantities of perspiration becomes unbearable - a situation that is rare enough to warrant a carefully balanced purchase considering product and price! Well we have bought and been satisfied with many Daewoo products so that put this one up front for consideration. Our rooms are average sized British house rooms so don't exactly require a wind machine - at 30 inches this is pretty universal as to height and for our needs the 50watt motor is quite powerful enough and of low enough wattage to be innoffensive as to noise! Our budget for this oh so seldom required piece of domestic kit was £30 - £40 and, on Prime we got this one for £23.99, well worth taking a chance on. It arrived in it's own sturdy packaging inside a fine, over-sized example of Amazon's own sturdy packaging! Unpacked, we carefully read the simple instructions, made a quick cuppa, grabbed an appropriate type and size screwdriver, reread the instructions and carefully put it together! The end result is very satisfactory - it is powerful enough to cool our 18 foot dining room on the 2nd setting and our 15 foot lounge/tv room and quiet enough not to interfere with discreet civilized conversation while dining, (adults only household), and also not to interfere with watching tv or listening to music. (If you require anything really quiet I suggest ear plugs any thing with a motor and moving parts cannot by it's nature be silent!) We tried it in our bedroom, again on the second setting, with the timer set to about 30 minutes - it has numbered increments of 20 minutes but can be set between these. It switched off at 29 minutes and was quiet enough not to interfere with our pre-sleep activities, (unspecified) - we then set for 40 minutes, during which time my husband went to sleep, so it didn't interfere with that either!! Well, this has to be £23.99 well spent, it is efficient, quite sturdy and well under our acceptable noise level - a very happy purchase! We have, however, kept it sturdy original box, that way it can be boxed up and put in the loft until the next hot spell - there is nothing more depressing than a fan standing around useless until our next spell of hot weather! Oh, and a word of warning which applies to any tower fan - in the case of visiting spaniels ir other tallish, excitable canine friends, put a chair or something in front - there is not a tower fan around that will totally withstand a vigorous greeting by a dogs wagging tail - though this one did remarkably well!
