Review: coming from using keyboards with brown switches & having tried reds before I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, but it's the best keyboard I've ever used. sounds & looks great, feels quality & sturdy, and I find it way easier to type on than browns. tldr; solid, satisfying & cheap. new favourite keyboard.

Review: Bought to replace a mechanical Corsair K60 which had broken function keys (these keys are not mechanical). K63 was the closest match. Did not want LED illumination, but Corsair gives no choice. Do not miss the numeric keypad, so has a smaller footprint. Nice to get rid of the thick USB cable, however has to be plugged in every few days to re-charge. I always forget to switch off at the end of the day (to save battery life), possibly since they "hid" the on/off switch at the rear. At the least the USB charge cable has a unique look, so won't get confused, but the connector on the back is standard USB-C. The illumination is of no use to me. Actually I do not know what use it is. The supplied instructions give NO details as to what you can do. I have no idea if it can be programmed. There is a key to set the illumination level (helps save battery power). The biggest problem is that for all dual purpose keys (e.g. 1 and !, 2 and ") the symbols are reversed as compared to a normal keyboard. This really confuses me. Appears to be needed in order to get the non shifted symbol to be illuminated, due to the position of the LED light below the keycap). I have replaced ALL these keys with the normal keys from the broken K60, giving me a hybrid keyboard. WARNING - pictures shows the MODIFIED keyboard. The key illumination times out frequently, no doubt to save battery power, but it gets annoying. Probably also explains why I forget to switch off at the end of the day. Keyboard feel and noise is fine. Keys appear to be "Cherry Red", no idea if these are genuine "Cherry" or look alikes. Response time for games is OK for my standard. Keys get illuminated with a blue colour, caused by blue LED just above each key stem. So only the top half of the keycap gets illuminated, and explains why all the keys with text (e.g. SHIFT) have the text in the upper half of the keycap. Illuniation of keycaps text is therefore not quite uniform, but not a big deal. I stuch with Corsair, but I am disappointed with them for the lack of non-illuminated keyboards. It is NOT RGB, and the blue illumination appears to serve no useful purpose. I guess it looks "cool" in a dark room. Key(board) height is slightly higher than on the aluminium K60, so to avoid stress on the wrist, you might need a pad to raise your hand/wrist height. It's relatively expensive, but less so due to the missing keypad. Smaller footprint and lack of USB cable are the two plus points.
