Review: Improves the smoothness and responsiveness of games. May improve reaction times as you see the real situation slightly earlier than you would have done on a 60hz monitor. The actual frame rate you can get is dependent on the power of your graphics card and the detail you demand in terms of the quality of game rendering chosen in the game settings. The performance is also dependent on the ping or speed of your internet connection. If this is slow the added responsiveness of the monitor may not be fully realised. This monitor gives a good level of brightness and colour contrast. It is only HD, not 4K but at the present time even high end graphics cards struggle to give very high frame rates at 4K. If you are into gaming this monitor is likely to give you a performance edge and currently is probably an optimum solution. If you are into films, word documents and spreadsheets, and or photography, not gaming, then an IPS 4K monitor would be a better choice for pure image quality, providing you have a reasonable graphics card. This monitor is an excellent HD monitor but not as good as 4K monitor for pure image quality. The monitor is easy to set up and use, easy to adjust the settings and has both height and tilt adjustment which is often missing (especially height) in cheaper monitors. You can get 240hz HD monitors but these tend to be more expensive and unless you have really high end graphics cards then you are unlikely to be able to achieve such high frame rates so would not see the added performance benefit which must also be almost beyond what a human could defect in terms of the difference between say 165hz and 240hz. So this monitor is a very well specked monitor for gaming while remaining a good all round monitor in terms of wider use. In terms of quality, performance and value for money for competitive gaming, or enthusiast gaming, this is one of the best performing monitors currently available.
