Review: I've had two Zenscreen portable monitors before stepping up to this ROG one with the tripod. I bought for just using with my PS5 originally for gaming nights or when I am travelling. But, I've actually found myself using it as my go to productivity monitor also. Why? Because the tripod set up is perfect for having as a stacked multiscreen set up with my laptops. I knew what I was getting in screen quality and brightness as had two previously but for any of you new to this concepts as they are low powered (for convenience) the brightness and nits are lower than a dedicated monitor. But the colour accuracy is more than adequate for sessions away from your main studio. The 240Hz actually runs brilliantly with Mac laptops and desktops via Display port set up. Haven't tried with Windowsachines but I assume it's equally compatible and benefits video editors looking for a good portable monitor. For gaming, I've only tested with PS5 and the 120HZ is the max refresh supported in Performance mode. It does take some unintuitive playing around with settings but that's on the PlayStation side not ASUS. It's great and I found myself choosing this set up versus my 4k 60Hz set up, even though a smaller screen. Just don't expect a high end HDR experience. On that note, I would say if solely looking for gaming set ups, the price tag might be a stretch to justify. It is overpriced for what it is and plenty of cheaper alternatives, especially fixed mains powered gaming monitors at half the price. But for a portability perspective, the tripod mount is exceptional and so well designed. The flip case leaves a lot to be desired, especially when you look at how excellent the flip cases are for the Zenscreen branded range from ASUS. If I bought the version without the tripod I might have even returned as so poorly executed. So, do yourself a favour and buy the tripod version for a true on the go, monitor rig. But make sure you have a larger backpack to fit this in.
