Review: I haven’t had a MacBook in nearly 7 years as my previous MacBook was stolen and I couldn’t afford to replace it. But I was blessed with the opportunity to replace it last year and decided to go for this beaut because of the price! Yes, this is at the cheap end of these new style MacBooks believe it or not! It was either get one from the Apple shop for a lot more on price, or purchased a pre-owned and refurbished one. And I must say I made the best decision to look on Amazon because they have more affordable MacBook and I am honestly overjoyed with this one! I’ve had this for a year now and I decided to review a year later to let you know how it’s going so far! I am a musician, I sing, song write, produce and engineer music and I use this MacBook to do all three and have multiple programs and software installed to do so. Considering this only has 8gb of RAM, I am yet to experience any crashing - it just works and it works well! I had to google what the M1 Chip was - I’m not completely tech savvy so I felt no shame in doing so! Especially if I’m spending my money on it lol! All I know is this MacBook works super fast and doesn’t lag or buffer like my previous one. The battery life on this is pretty good! You can get around 6-8 hours of work done on it before it needs a full charge - in my experience. If you are streaming a movie then the battery will drain a lot quicker. In a nutshell, this was brilliant investment and if you’re thinking about it and can afford it… just go for it!

Review: If you like multitasking i.e. working on different applications across three screens when you dock with multiple monitors then don't get the M1 version of Mac Book Pro!!!!! It will allow you to mirror your laptop screen on multiple monitors i.e. same thing on multiple screens but why would you want to doi that?? I purchased two USB C dongles/docks (£100) before I discovered this anomaly. I had watched a you tube clips showing how to extend on two screens so using different applications on two monitors by plugging two dongles into the Thunder drive USB C ports. What I failed too pick up was that the newer M1 version can only be linked to one monitor unless as mentioned above its mirrored. You cant truly extend the screens!! How rubbish is that??? Surely if it a pro laptop made for business it should support extension on at least two screens??? ....apparently not. Rsther yiou strain eyesight looking a a 13" screen all day. Very basic windows based laptops can extend with ease subject to having the necessary ports. I cannot give it anymore stars above for that reason. Im somewhat disappoint tbh and having spent £1400 it will at least be a pretty paper weight. Another idiom is that I bought a wireless keyboard with a UK European keyboard (@ symbol next to the right hand shift key). I can adjust the keyboard settings but then it changes the Mac Book Pro to European layout for the @ symbol as well so effectively I have to keep changing it when docking with the keyboard. Its crazy as I though Mac Books were meant to be intuitive. So far I would take a Windows based laptop any day and just not look as cool on the train. If the above changes I will reflect in my review.
