Review: Exceptional, but I need to increase ram from 8gb-32gb. The SSD is soldered onto the Logic board. Adding memory: recommends you install modules in pairs for Dual-channel performance - View Dual-channel Memory Video. Mr Memory recommends removing the original Memory modules and installing either 2 or 4 matched modules. This will keep dual-channel mode active and allow the Memory to run at maximum speed - iMac 2020 Memory Configuration Guide. The 2020 iMacs are proving to be very selective when it comes to installing additional memory with existing modules of a different specification. Doing so will work fine, however the speed that the modules operate at will decrease down to 2133MHz. For optimal memory performance, all modules should be the same capacity, speed and brand. Mr Memory recommends one of the following two options in order to keep dual-channel mode active and allow the Memory to run at maximum speed: Upgrade all 4 modules with identical specifications... Slot 1: New Memory Slot 2: New Memory Slot 3: New Memory Slot 4: New Memory Install a matched pair and remove your existing memory... Slot 1: New Memory Slot 2: Empty Slot 3: New Memory Slot 4: Empty The only way we currently understand to achieve full speed when mixing modules, is to run them in the following configuration, however Mr Memory does not recommend using this setup as dual-channel mode will deactivate and will hinder performance even further. Slot 1: New Memory Slot 2: New Memory Slot 3: Original Memory Slot 4: Original Memory seriel C02GW0VLPN5T Model: iMac Retina 5K 2020 27" * Part Number ? * The MPN (Marketing Part Number), also sometimes called the model number, marketing number, order number or part number. This is the part number under which Apple sold this particular Mac model. Only base configurations have part numbers, while Macs sold with various build to order/configure to order options do not have them. What we consider a single Mac may have multiple part numbers, which may refer to different specifications of RAM, drive size, or case colour that were offered as base options. Part numbers also differ by country or region. In modern Macs it is usually an 8 or 9 digit code, with the last 2 characters being "/A" or occasionally "/B". The one or two characters immediately before the "/" depend on country or region - "B" is the UK, "LL" the USA, etc. We represent this portion as "xx". : MXWT2xx/A * EMC Number ? * EMC numbers cover a narrow group of Macs, or sometimes an individual machine. There are exceptions, but usually models that share an EMC number were released at the same time, and share all attributes apart from minor differences in CPU and other internal components. In a very few cases, Macs of the same model were sold with multiple different EMC numbers. The EMC number is usually a 4 digit numerical code, though in a few cases there are additional characters. : 3442 * Model Identifier ? * Model Identifiers often cover a narrow range of Macs. Usually one particular type of Mac, with a specific screen size, released at a particular time. Though in some cases a later revision that is substantially similar, will carry the same Model ID. Staring with the Intel Macs released in 2006, Model IDs were in the format MacNameX,Y where MacName is a recognisable Mac model (iMac, MacBookPro etc.), and the X and Y are numbers. However in 2022, a couple of years after the ARM switchover, Apple started using the format MacX,Y - the X and Y are numbers, but the "Mac" is the same across different models. Old pre-Intel (PowerPC) Macs were almost all PowerMacX,Y or PowerBookX,Y (the exception being the very first iMac, which is: "iMac,1"). : iMac20,1 * Model Number ? * Model numbers, also sometimes called family numbers, are an identifier that often cover a fairly wide range of Macs. In cases where the fundamental design of a Mac has remained mostly unchanged, but incremental upgrades have been made to internal components, a single Model Number can cover more than 20 individual Macs, released over several years. Other Model Numbers are unique to a single machine. It is usually a 5 character code in the format AXXXX, where the Xs are numerals. Some very old Macs have a Model Number that starts with an "M" rather than "A". : A2115 * Introduced: 2020 * Discontinued: 2022 * Earliest Supported macOS: macOS 10.15.6 Catalina * Max Operating System Version: macOS 13 Ventura (Current) (download) Links to download compatible macOS from Apple * macOS 13 Ventura * macOS 12 Monterey * macOS 11 Big Sur * macOS 10.15 Catalina * CPU Speed: 3.1GHz * RAM Type: DDR4 SODIMM 2666MHz * RAM Slots: 4 * Max RAM by Slot: 4 x 32GB * Maximum RAM: 128GB * RAM Pairing: There is a benefit but not a requirement to install RAM in matched groups of 4 * Device Connectivity: USB 3, USB-C, Thunderbolt 3 * Bluetooth: 5.0 * Video Output: 2 x Thunderbolt 3 * Expansion: Thunderbolt 3 * Revision Produced From (Year): 2020

Review: This was my second imac 27 over the years (last one 2008 2009 )but I returned it after a few hrs use and I would like to explain why . These are a beautiful piece of tech but I had to acknowledge things have moved on speeds airplay processing speed etc only true professionals need a all in one like this I certainly did not its big cumbersome and in my living room looked like a giant ornament buy if needed but don't if a modern just as powerful laptop will do the job .
