Review: Now more than ever before I appreciate a comfortable, supportive computer chair. I spend up to 12 hours a day behind a computer desk so I need something that will be able to handle long-term wear and tear and stay comfortable during that time. I found that gaming chairs were designed to withstand that kind of use so I started using them for my work. The only real issue I’ve found with gaming chairs is that they are so much more expensive than standard computer chairs. This is a much more affordable gaming chair than some other brands I’ve seen. The chair came in a large shipping box. It was a little beat up, but the cardboard was thick and the interior pieces were also wrapped in plastic and had styrofoam surrounding them. When the box is opened, the user will see the back section of the chair. Assembly is required for this product, but it’s a fairly easy process. If you’ve ever assembled a gaming chair before, you’ll be able to construct the AndaSeat. Beneath the back, you’ll find the seat with the arms attached, the head/neck and back/lumbar cushions, the piston, the wheels, the base, the instruction manual and all the parts you’ll need to finish assembly. The first thing I did was to unwrap all the pieces and lay them out. Next, you are instructed to place the back onto the seat to attach the two main parts of the chair. There are bolts pre-screwed into the back assembly. You will need to take these out so that you can mount the back to the seat section. The proper hex wrenches are included to complete the entire assembly of this chair. Once the back is attached to the seat, then you can start on the base of the chair. First, you will mount the handle mechanism to the bottom of the seat. Just like the back, the bolts are pre-screwed into the bottom of the seat. Remove them and then place the mechanism on the seat so that it is aligned with the holes. You will want the handle and spot for the hydraulic piston closer to the back than the front of the seat. There should be a sticker on the mechanism plate that is labeled “Front.” As far as assembly goes, this chair has a pretty standard process. I was done with it in approximately 30 minutes, but if you are familiar with builds like this, it might go quicker than that. The chair is designed for a person with a standard frame. I’m a larger person and am typically more comfortable with an XL gaming chair. The seats are wider and they are built to hold more weight. This chair is smaller than the ones I’m used to. That said, when I sat in it, the padding felt hard and stiff. This might loosen up over time, but out of the box, it’s very firm. The arms seem to move freely and I didn’t have any issues adjusting the tilt on the back. I love that you get a full 160-degree tilt for ’sleeping mode’ should you need a nap. The rocking motion is pretty smooth, too. The base of the chair is sturdy and seems very solid. The wheels, on the other hand, are a little cheap feeling. I would have liked to see something a lot more solid than what was provided. This seems to be a solid choice for an affordable seating option. It’s well-built, easy to assemble, and if you are the right size for it, it seems to be comfortable. If you are a larger person like me, I would look into gaming chairs that are labeled “XL,” but if you weigh less than 265 pounds, then this gaming chair might be a good fit for you.
