Review: Anyone thinking of buying this product, should read this review before buying. The one star review is for Amazon Product Information, not the product itself. In the product information it states - Experience high quality Video in Full HD 1080p. This is true the Picture Quality is very good, when playing Blu-ray discs, even the upscaling of DVD's is better than an upscaling DVD player I own. If you are buying this simply to play discs, then you will most likely be happy. However, if either of the following two claims are factors in purchasing this product, you should be aware of the following: - Access over 300 online apps for catch-up TV like BBCiPlayer or Channel 5, and VoD like Netflix and many more. This Product only has access to 13 built apps, and it is NOT possible to add to this number, as verified by Sony Technical Support. I think most people can work out that 13 is in fact not "over 300", and Channel 5 (5 on Demand) isn't one of the 13, neither is Amazon Prime Video. On to the next incorrect claim - Enjoy PlayStation3 games streamed via the cloud without a console with PlayStation Now, giving more people the opportunity to experience the world of PlayStation. This product doesn't have access to Sony Playstation Games in any way shape or form, again verified by Sony Technical Support. Personally I don't care about this, but some people might. I have now raised this Product Information issue with Amazon on several occasions through different methods, but it still hasn't been rectified. Yet I have noticed that they have managed to change the page to increase the price by £10 today. One other thing, which I have just put down to bad luck, it stopped working after 3 weeks. It would not power on for a whole day by either the remote or switch on the player, then it work for a couple days again, and wouldn't on the next. When contacting Amazon about a replacement, they could only issue a refund for some reason beyond my understanding (but that particular call is a whole other story). I have now returned, taken the refund and decided to buy a completely different player with better reviews on "tech websites". ...and a final thought, as has been mentioned in reviews (on this site), the GIANT Netflix button on the remote above the home button is really annoying, even if you have "Netflix" but don't want to accidentally open it when trying to get to the home screen. In short I am not an unhappy customer with an axe to grind. In fact, its the opposite and I'm generally really happy with the majority of my many purchases and Amazons Customer Services. I just think that information about a product should be correct, so that people can make informed choices before they part with their Money. The fact that Amazon have been advised several times, and it remains unchanged is nothing short of appalling.
