Review: I have spent the last ten years doing all of my video calls etc using an iMac. Thing I loved about the iMac was the FaceTime camera built into the top of the screen was always at the right level for calls, unlike a laptop which 'looks up' at you. The time came to retire this trusty old device and start using other hardware, which has meant moving away from a built-in webcam, and looking around I liked the look of what the Razer camera's did, especially the 1080p offering and the 'low light' capability of the Kiyo Pro. Changing my setup to run of an external monitor plugged into a MacBook, I connected up the camera when it came and ... was massively underwhelmed. I wasn't lit up at all well, and when I opened the blind from the wind next to me, I became a silhouette, It couldn't handle the contrast between be and the back wall. Placing my hand beside the camera to block the window worked - but you can't work like that all day :-D Razer do not have current support software for later version of Mac so it seems that they are leaving Mac Users behind. Shame, but their choice. It meant I couldn't tinker with settings. Shouldn't have to, of course. I compared the same light situation with the onboard camera for the MacBook, and it picked me up without issue. I was equally lit up even with the sun coming into the window. It's a shame but I have been working with the iMac up until five days ago, in the same spot, all year without having to adjust anything for various lighting conditions. I don't want to start getting into having to buy ring lights and accessories, having the blind down etc just to cater for a webcam. First world problems, but that's my view. I'll be returning it, which is a real shame, because the product is beautifully packaged, feels a very sturdy build (it's a lump of a device) with a great supporting arm, Razer branded, chorded USB lead etc. When the lighting conditions are right it's sharp with objects close up, although the autofocus can take some nudging to kick in.
