Review: worth it. I am not a gamer but work from home so spend around 10 hours a day in the chair. I went for this chair based partly on it’s looks but mainly for the fact that all previous cheaper chairs have not really lasted. Either the filling collapses on the seat base, arms or the chair starts to creak every time you move. So what do you really get for the money. You get a very well packaged item, everything perfectly separated and protected and even the screws for the chair are in a embossed plastic box. The chairs construction exudes the typical German engineering of function and quality. The chair is very heavy but glides well on its castors. Part of the weight I think is the manufacturing team have maybe borrowed some girders from the Rügen bridge to build the base of the chair. With buttons and levers to move near every part of the chair it takes a while to get your chair in to the position that suits and I found myself sitting in a more upright position than I have in previous chairs. My back is however thanking me for this. The finish of the chair really is as good as it looks on the website. With the stitching being uniform at the material fitting tight over the frame there is no bagging of the material or miss-alignment on the fit. So to balance out this review, would I say this is the best chair of ever, personally no… the reason being is I would change two aspects of the chair. The cushioning of the chair is really quite hard (not uncomfortably hard) so if you are expecting a super soft enveloping seat then this to me is not it. Would I want it super soft, no but just a little more would be good. Kind of reminds me of a train seat, you know it has some cushioning but you always want just a little more. The second would be to have the head support area further forward, or better still adjustable. Even in my upright position if you want to lean your head back, the area is just to far back for my preference. You do get supplied a head cushion which does sort of fix this for me but it does also ruin the look of the chair when attached though. I think that as these so closely mimic a car seat, a adjustable head support would not be to much of a stretch.

Review: (for the Real Leather version) The chair's build quality is good, and it looks nice (in my opinion). The bottom cushion is firm, but not solid. I've sat on comfier cushions, but the biggest problem I have with most chairs is the cushion flattening until you're just sat directly on the surface underneath. That doesn't seem like it will be a problem with this chair, I've had it for a year now and it's showing no signs of that happening. The leather is showing no signs of cracking, splitting, or wearing away like every "fake" leather (PU leather, etc) chair I've had. The shape of the chair isn't great, and the lumbar support is poor. It has a knob on the side to adjust the lumbar support, but it doesn't change the shape significantly. I ended up buying a shaped back support cushion, which kind of takes away from having a nice looking leather chair. The arm rests are very adjustable, but they're made out of a rubbery plastic material and aren't padded so aren't very comfortable to lean your elbows on all day. I ended up buying some "Big Ant" arm rest pads to strap onto them. There is a plastic badge in the middle of the chair's back rest with the brand logo/name on it. I was concerned that it might dig into my back, but that ended up not being an issue. However, if you've got long hair (or like to slouch) then it can trap your hair behind it, which can be painful.
