Review: Had spent a good many hours researching floor standing speakers. It's very difficult to buy speakers without actually demoing the sound. With the nearest audio showroom more than an hours drive it just wasn't in the cards. By living in a small rural city has benefits but also deterrents, no sports teams, limited entertainment options and no Audio/Video stores. Had to rely on a friend from chi-town (works in music industry) on what's the best sounding speakers for the music that I listen to, and keep it under 1k for a pair. I was almost sold on some 11.4's at $600 pair (Wharfedales), but with the friends advice and 3 others I talked to, one brand kept being suggested and that brand was Monitor Audio. Just had to find the best model I could afford with my limit from the boss, low and behold after getting ready to buy a different brand these awesome Monitor Audio Bronze 500's were available at an amazing price. They sound great and have a lot of ability to really rock if you have the need, nice clarity in the mids and higher frequency ranges. These have plenty of bass, I adjusted down my subwoofer instead of using the foam plugs at moment, maybe more hours of use will make me switch to controlling bass output from these 500's. Have them bi-wired which is also a different way to utilize your speakers glad I had the option with them. I was worried about 50# boxes being shipped to me and possible damage, Monitor Audio packages their products well the only worries will be those who deliver them. I had ordered a pair and only got a single, shout out to Amazon and the Seller (ListenUp Colorado) for making sure I had the pair.

Review: I would give 0 star if there's an option, Bough these speakers during the holiday season, they are over-rated speakers if I may say, very flat, unnatural sound stage, bass response is terrible even they have 8 inch woofers. and Highs are very directional, they sound different even you move a little bit!! And the worst thing is, if you buy from this seller and when you want to return the products, they will charge you the initial shipping and 15% restocking fee, plus you have to pay for the return as well, for this purchase I lost $400 or more just for returning it. And it took forever for them to process your refund. worst experience ever doing shopping at Amazon. buy from your local audio store or at least products fulfilled by Amazon!!!!
