Review: I spend a good amount of my day staring at a word doc on a monitor and as I was using a pair of 21" 1680x1050 displays that were failing and also giving off a lot of heat, I decided it was time to upgrade. I wanted just one monitor. I wanted 27" and ideally I wanted Quad HD. But I couldn't afford a monitor that ticked all those boxes so I decided to take a punt on the lower resolution. I also found this in Amazon Warehouse in Very Good condition at a price that was very attractive. The positives for me: 1. It looks lovely. Bevels are thin. Colours are good. 2. It runs much cooler than my previous monitors (I don't come away from it after multiple hours of work feeling like my face is sunburned.) 3. It has built in speakers, so I've cleared my desk of the separate speakers I used to use (the speakers aren't great, very little bass, but fine for zoom calls, background music, what little gaming I do). So I saved space. 4. It has VESA mounts. Not all monitors seem to. 5. I can have two documents open side by side at a good, readable size - that's all I really wanted The negative: 1. It is a bit fuzzy. There's no denying it. It's not the monitor's fault, it's just that 1080p on 27" is a stretch. If you're gaming, you'll probably not notice it. For lots of word processing/spreadsheeting I'd say if you can afford it go quad HD or settle for a smaller screen. All that said, I really like it. It's a big step up for me and I can live with the lack of clarity.
